Mysterious "Red Rose" on Saturn: giant vortex Pictured Original (PHOTO / VIDEO)

NASA says, "Rose", but despite the name it is inspiring delicacy of large storm that took place at the north pole of Saturn.

"Eye" of the storm has a diameter of 2011 km, 20 times more than an "eye" of a hurricane on Earth. The wind in the eye of this storm also has a speed four times higher than on Earth.

Stunning image that captures the vortex was colored because viewers can easily distinguish high from low altitude (colored in red) of those at high altitude (colored in green). NASA experts have estimated that the clouds are on the vortex moving with a speed of 531 km / h

"Hurricane spins within a large and mysterious weather pattern, six sided hexagon known", says NASA. The analysis reveals that the Agency storm, being the poles and having no where to go, probably spinning in the same place for many years.

Image was taken by Cassini in an attempt to capture the north pole of Saturn as well. Moving equinox in 2009, the pole is now sunlight bathing.

Because Saturn needs 30 years to achieve a full cycle around the sun, equinox occurs once every 15 years. Therefore, the last image the planet's north pole was illuminated by the sun was made in 1981 by Voyager 2.
